In my textile work series, I aim to draw attention to the symbolic use of fabric by focusing on the themes of hiding or hiding, moving from the reluctance to confront global climate problems and making people’s identities visible in the light of religion, language and race differences.

In her recent paintings, she mostly depicts emotions and feelings in terms of subject and concept; it exhibits an energy that tries to draw the audience into the picture with its visual effect.

The project entitled “Crossing Borders: Artists from the Middle East & the Americas” an art exhibition with cultural events from South Florida’s rich multicultural community. At the exhibit opening, attendants will experience “A Taste of the Middle East, and Latin America,” and engage the attendants in a facilitated dialogue focusing on building cultural understanding, dispelling stereotypes, and fostering awareness of immigrants from the Middle East, the Americas and beyond with stories of their history in the U.S. This will be shared through videos, photos, and text as it contributes to the American fabric.

An exhibition that explores an expanded idea of multiplicity as an artistic challenge.

Sibel Kocabasi's solo exhibition is on display at the Palm Beach State College, Eissey Campus, PGA, Florida. 

"Conventions that are also challenged by Sibel Kocabaşı in her work, as well as pressing issues of violence against women, global effects of war and migration, and environmental consciousness." 

OUTSIDE THE BOX 4 is the fourth biennial hosted by Elayne Mordes at her perfectly situated scenic waterfront site, Whitespace, in Palm Beach, which also houses her enviable international collection.

Sibel Kocabasi’s embroidery of synthetic gold and silver metal thread (from emergency foil blankets to keep refugees warm) on an old, well-worn Turkish-Zili rug employs the power of pattern and decoration to convey content and meaning.
